Second sinkhole opens up in Wallsend
A second sinkhole has opened up at Wallsend, displacing residents and forcing the closure of a club.
The new sinkhole is around 1km away from Fogo Street with Mine Subsidence authority now investigating.
It comes just days after families were forced to evacuate their homes indefinitely after a sink hole formed on Fogo Street, Wallsend.
The situation is being closely monitored, and motorists are being urged to avoid the area with several streets partially closed.
Wallsend Diggers Sports Club believes it will cost at least $3 million to fix its damaged bowling greens.
