High hopes for national games after $30-million committed to new basketball stadium in Newcastle

The home of Newcastle Basketball will remain in Newcastle after plans for a big new stadium at Lake Macquarie were knocked back.

The $30-million facility is now slated for Broadmeadow, and the city council is confident it will be built regardless of who wins the state election.
