NSW FARMERS HOLDING OUT FOR STATE BUDGET

The New South Wales Farmers Association says there’s a number of items it wants addressed in this year’s state budget.
President James Jackson believes the construction of an underground tunnel between the Central West and Sydney could largely benefit producers.
It’s understood the project is already being considered by the government to create easier freight access to the new Western Sydney Airport.
Mr Jackson says the organisation also wants to see greater biosecurity and drone training.
“We’re seeing that drones can actually replace four-wheeled motorbike trips to inspect calving heffas, they can be used to inspect water… their uses are only limited by our imagination.”
The state budget will be handed down in June.
