RAMADA PENTHOUSES FOR TOURISTS ONLY

A long running feud between landlords and Ballina council has ended.
The owners of two luxury penthouse apartments at Ballina’s Ramada Hotel wanted to turn them into permanent residences.
But it will now remain available to holidaymakers.
Council has voted unanimously against a ‘change of use’ application, which would have allowed a long-term tenant to move into the waterfront suites.
The owners applied for the changes because they claim it’s difficult to fill them with tourists.
