Superyacht owner’s son bailed in multi-million-dollar drug plot

The son of a Superyacht operator charged with deadly cocaine importation which left a drug mule diver dead at Newcastle last May was granted bail today while his father remains in custody charged with manslaughter.

Aspiring filmmaker James Blee Junior, 21, allegedly drove two South American divers to the ship where one of them died retrieving the $20 million haul but his lawyers argued he acted unwittingly under the direction of his mastermind father.

He has been in custody since his arrest in November 2022 on drug import and supply charges.
