QX resistant oyster among Port Stephens Fisheries Institute’s 50 years of innovation

Oyster farmers have been battling a detrimental disease, wiping out crops along the east coast for more than one year now.

But hard work is going ahead to deal with QX and it’s all inside the Port Stephens Fisheries Institute.

It’s been innovating for fifty years and to mark its anniversary, the doors opened to more than 500 people.
