SAILOR RESCUED OFF NEWCASTLE

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has rescued a man from a ship in tough conditions off Newcastle.

The 42-year-old was suffering a medical condition on the bulk carrier Corona Brave.

The chopper was called in but was unable to land on the ship’s deck because of the rough conditions, so the man was winched on board.

The patient was flown to the John Hunter Hospital where he’s in a stable condition.
