STUDENTS TURN TO GARDENING FOR EDUCATION

Students at Surfers Paradise State school put their green thumbs to work today, turning an unused bike rack into a sustainable garden.

The aim – to beautify the school and teach the children some valuable lessons.

“They’re able to have a bit of responbility now, with looking after and maintaining these gardens.”

“We’re planting some vegetables to help tuck shop so we can get some food.”

Bunnings donated the plants and equipment.

And maintenance of the garden will now be entwined in the school curriculum.
