HIGHWAY RE-OPENS FOLLOWING TRUCK FIRE AT BULAHDELAH

Traffic has returned to normal on the Pacific Highway at Bulahdelah, following an overnight truck fire.

Fire crews were called to the scene just after 8 o’clock on Thursday evening, wherethey found the rig fully alight.

An exclusion zone was set up around the area, crews taking several hours to extinguish the flames – proving more difficult for firies due to the high-powered power lines above.

Witnesses reported hearing several explosions coming from the burning rig.

It’s understood two men were treated at the scene by paramedics.
