Harrington fishing club’s final gesture to the community

Club Harrington’s fishing club has been forced to dissolve, but the organisation has still made a major contribution to the community.

Donating the last of their funds to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, totalling more than $10,000.

“One of our patrons in the floods got picked up by the chopper so its good in some way to give back,” Club Harrington Michael Burgess said.

“They know the importance of the Rescue Helicpter and the service we provide for these areas, these remote areas,” the service’s Richard McGovern said.

The Rescue Helicopter Service averages 5 trips to the region each week.
