Taree local makes 200th blood donation

A Taree local has marked International Plasma Awareness Week by rolling up his sleeve for an astonishing 200th time.

Peter Trood donating blood at the Taree Donor Centre this morning.

Now happily retired, he says he’ll spend more time in the chair to save lives.

“Going from 8 products out of it when I first started, now it’s 18 that means a lot more people can benefit,” Peter said.

The demand for plasma based products in Australia has increased by 13 per cent this past year.
