Scooby, the Kings Charles Spaniel trapped for five days in a cave near Cessnock in the Hunter Valley has finally been freed.
The eight-year-old dog chased another animal into the cave on Sunday and a rescue operation swung into action yesterday.
A rock splitting expert arrived at the site today and blasted several big boulders out of the way so rescuers could get better access.
He was released into the arms of his happy owners around 6pm on Thursday.
