NBN News can reveal Brigid Heywood allegedly assaulted a 16-year-old girl at a club on Dumaresq Street in Armidale on March 8.The exact circumstances aren’t known at this stage but police say the girl was NOT physically injured.
The 65-year-old has been issued with a court attendance notice and is facing charges relating to common assault and offensive behaviour near a public place or school.
Heywood has been UNE’s Vice Chancellor since 2019…it’s unknown at this stage if she will stand aside.
The University of New England declined to comment on the matter today.. Brigid Heywood will front Armidale Local Court in September.
