A 21-year-old West Tamworth man has been arrested following the brazen attack on an elderly woman in Tamworth on Thursday.
The 79-year-old woman was walking through the car park of City Plaza when she was passed by a group of four men.
It’s alleged the one of them then approached her from behind – grabbing her handbag and pushing her to the ground.
The woman is recovering in Tamworth Hospital with a broken eye socket, broken nose and broken arm.
The 21-year-old man was charged with aggravated robbery and will appear before Tamworth Bail Court tomorrow.
