Four Korean men are lucky to be alive after being rescued from a rip at Woolgoolga beach yesterday afternoon.
An off-duty lifeguard raised the alarm, and managed to keep the men afloat with a rescue board until emergency crews arrived.
They were all treated at the scene for water inhalation.
