FLOOD AFFECTED RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES WILL SEE RATE RELIEF

Flood affected businesses and residents in seven council areas will see rate relief from June 30.
The state government pitching in $40 million to cover fees for properties deemed eligible by Service New South Wales, over 12 months.
“Now the last thing anyone could get right now is walking up to their mailbox and getting a letter there saying you’ve got to pay rates, these people have been to hell and back,” Deputy Premier Paul Toole said.
“Today is a true sign that the government is listening, they understand the need,” Lismore Mayor Steve Krieg said.
Meanwhile community and volunteer groups will get a hand with new grants to help re-establish flood-impacted services
