RUNDOWN UMINA MALL BEING DEMOLISHED

Demolition has begun at the site of the former Umina Mall.

The Ocean Beach Road structure was burnt down in January last year, with a teenager later charged with arson.

Laundy Hotels, which owns the site, will construct a new shopping centre, after purchasing a council laneway nearby to improve access.

Gosford company, Pluim Group has been tasked to complete the build by October next year.
