MAN MISSING IN THE CLARENCE RIVER AFTER JUMPING OFF BOAT

A man missing in the Clarence River has sparked a multiagency search at Illuka Bay.

Police say the man resides on a boat and believe that he entered the water to retrieve his stray dinghy.

The alarm was raised after he failed to resurface.

Police divers, marine rescue, surf lifesaving and the Westpac helicopter are assisting.
