Emergency services have been dealing with more than 50 incidents, from roof damage to trees and power lines down and flash flooding from this afternoon’s storm.
Hail was reported around parts of Lake Macquarie and Newcastle.
The Centro Supermarket at Raymond Terrace sustained water damage as did the Lake Macquarie Council administration building with staff sent home for the rest of the day.
NSW Fire and Rescue and SES crews remain will work into the evening securing properties damaged in the storm.
