The expansion of Whitehaven Underground mine is one step closer to fruition, now that the Independent Planning Commission has granted conditional approval.
It would see operations expanded to 2044.
But its been met with opposition from one Greens Member.
The NSW Land and Environment court ordered Whitehaven to pay over 158 thousand dollars due to a series of environmental offences.
