NO RELIEF FROM DOCTOR CRISIS

Despite a nationwide advertising campaign, Dungog has failed to attract a new doctor.
Following three retirements, the small Hunter Valley town has had just one GP to look after 8000 patients for the past two months.
Its doctor-patient ratio is eight times greater than Newcastle and Sydney, with the only practising doctor also required to work at the local hospital.
A campdraft will be held next month, and further fundraisers in the new year, to try and attract an international doctor.
