Having worked in electricity generation for 42 years, Wangi’s Bob Porter is still in shock. The 78 year old was a turbine engineer at Eraring when it was first commissioned in the early 1980s, and says it will be a sad day when the lights go out.
He’s concerned for local families and the future of his community after Origin Energy announced Eraring power station will close 7 years early.
