CROWDY HEAD KANGAROO FEATURED IN GLOBAL TOURISM CAMPAIGN

A Mid Coast kangaroo has found international stardom featuring in a new ‘Tourism Australia’ ad campaign.

The ‘Don’t Go Small, Go Australia’ ad features a photograph of the confident ‘roo, which was taken at Crowdy Head Beach, north of Taree.

So far, the native celebrity has splashed up on London’s Piccadilly Lights – the largest advertising display in Europe – and in New York’s Times Square.

The photo was initially used for a Mid Coast campaign.

“They thought that just met the need they had for the campaign so it’s really quirky and really iconic,” MidCoast Council’s Deb Tuckerman said.

“That is phenomenal coverage for the area.”

The ‘Tourism Australia’ campaign is hoped to attract visitors, as international borders reopen on Monday.
