29-YEAR-OLD BYRON BAY MAN ARRESTED AFTER PLOUGHING INTO A MEDIAN STRIP OUTSIDE POLICE STATION

A 29-year-old Byron Bay man was arrested at 1am this morning, after he lost control of the car he was driving and crashed into a median strip outside Byron Bay Police station.

As he reversed and tried to drive off, police chased the damaged car down the street where the man was detained and breathalysed.

He was taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and took a mandatory blood test.

Police are awaiting his test results.
