MAN ARRESTED AFTER SUSPICIOUS FIRE AT EAST GOSFORD

A man has been charged following a suspicious fire at East Gosford overnight.
Officers were called to Russell Street just after 8pm with reports of a unit completely alight.
Firefighters worked to control the blaze, however, the unit on the top floor was destroyed and neighbouring properties were also damaged.
Thankfully, all residents managed to escape.
Police later arrested a 57-year-old man, after allegedly finding a number of cannabis plants inside his home.
He was refused bail.
