The world’s largest coal export port is now experiencing the effects of the disaster in Japan.
Six coal carriers on their way to Newcastle have been delayed and sent to other ports, until the damage at Japanese ports is clarified.
A 7th vessel is at anchor off Newcastle, awaiting further assessment.
