Burleigh Heads surfer Luke Hynd is through to the third round of the Occy Grom Fest after posting 16.33 in solid one and a half metre swell at Duranbah today.
An international field, including surfers from South Africa, Tahiti and even Italy are competing in the prestigious five day event which has drawn 260 juniors to Duranbah.
The under 16 and 14 boys were in the water today.
The swell is expected to drop over next few days, as the younger surfers compete.
