DR BERNIE CURRAN REMEMBERED FOR SPORTING LEGACY IN NEWCASTLE
Hundreds gathered at the University of Newcastle today to celebrate the life of Dr Bernard Curran, who died in July just prior to lockdown.
A ‘Classics’ lecturer, he was also remembered for his passion for sport, and contributions to campus facilities including The Forum and Evatt House.
“Everyone who’s talking about the incredible impact he’s had on their lives just behind me I think would say they’ve all learned from him, and he’s left an enduring legacy.” – Rebecca Hazell, University of Newcastle.
Dr Curran worked at the university for 25 years.
