MOTORCYCLIST ON L-PLATES DIES AFTER CRASH IN INVERELL

An L-Plater has died after his motorbike crashed into an SUV at Inverell last night.

The 21-year-old crashed into a Nissan X-Trail at around 7.30pm, at the intersection of Henderson and Vivian Streets.

He was taken to Inverell hospital with critical injuries, but died a short time later.

The female driver of the SUV has undergone mandatory testing.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
