6 BUCCA HOUSEHOLDS STRANDED AFTER BRIDGE DECK LIFTED OFF SUPPORTS

A small pocket of rural residents at Bucca, north west of Coffs Harbour face a month long wait to be fully reconnected with the world.
This bridge across Bucca Creek on McClellands Road was the city’s biggest casualty of last week’s flood.
The force of floodwaters lifted the deck off its supports and moved it three metres downstream, closing it to traffic.
Council expects it will take around four weeks to remove the marooned deck and replace it.
