ARMED TRIO TARGET BALLINA SHOPPING CENTRE

Three men remain on the run following a ram raid at Ballina Fair.

Just after 4 o’clock this morning, the trio used a silver Subaru to smash into the shopping centre.

Two workers were held against their will by the group, who were armed with a baseball bat, a knife and a hammer.

Two jewellery stores were robbed before the group fled.

It’s the second time Ballina Fair has been targeted in as many months.

Police are appealing for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident to contact them.
