RED ALERT WARNING ISSUED FOR BLUE-GREEN ALGAE IN DUMARESQ DAM

Swimmers have been warned to stay out of Dumaresq Dam near Armidale, as blue-green algae grows in the water.
A red alert warning has been issued – the algae, potentially toxic and could lead to gastro issues if consumed.
Water New South Wales says livestock owners should check their water supplies, and remove animals from foreshores where the algae is suspected or scum is visible.
