UPDATED: The M1 at Mooney Mooney Creek, south of Gosford is partially closed northbound following a nasty accident between a car and truck.
A man who was trapped in the wreckage has now been freed by emergency services.
Suffering abdominal, leg and chest injuries, he was taken to Kariong Oval, before being transported by the Careflight helicopter in a serious condition.
A second patient was taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition.
