PUBLIC CONCERNED OVER SAFETY OF WHALE BEACH BURIAL

Some Port Macquarie locals are furious over the decision to burry a dead humpback whale at Nobby’s Beach, which washed ashore on Monday.
Port Maquarie-Hasting Council says it was the last resort, as the whale was unable to be towed back to sea.
Locals are worried that the move will attract sharks.
There are now calls for it to be exhumed, and taken to the tip – the same outcome for the whale euthanised at Sawtell recently.
