TAMWORTH MAN CHARGED OVER ALLEGED STABBING

A man will face court today charged with allegedly stabbing another man in the state’s north-west yesterday.

At around 2.30am on October 28, emergency services were called to a unit on Cossa Street at West Tamworth.

A 47-year-old man was found at the unit with a stab wound to his neck.

He was treated paramedics, before being taken to Tamworth Hospital in a stable condition.

Police established a crime scene and started an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 57-year-old man nearby at about 4.40am.

He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with reckless wounding.

The man appeared at Tamworth Local Court yesterday, where he was formally refused bail to re-appear at the same court on 15 November 15.
