Tamworth Public school remains closed with almost 1000 staff and students still in isolation after they were potentially exposed.
Today saw 7 more cases in the region, bringing the total tally to 55 – one was in Armidale.
Fragments of the virus have also been detected in wastewater at Barraba – an area without any cases.
