HIGHWAY UPGRADE TOO FAR AWAY FOR CORONER

The man who investigated the disastrous Grafton and Kempsey bus crashes – and recommended the Pacific Highway be made dual carriageway – has died.
Former New South Wales Coroner Kevin Waller passed away last weekend, before seeing the project completed.
Despite his call, the highway at Clybucca, just north of Kempsey, is unchanged since the 1989 collision that claimed 35 lives.
The upgrade is estimated to be three quarters complete by 2016.
Mr Waller was 81.
