COVID CASES DOWN ACROSS THE STATE
New South Wales has recorded 319 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
63 are in Northern New South Wales with majority in the Hunter New England Local Health District.
Two people passed away from the virus, a man in his 60’s from Sydney’s inner west, who received one dose of a vaccine, and a woman in her 90’s from south-eastern Sydney who was not vaccinated.
652 people are being treated in hospital, with 138 people in intensive care, 73 of whom require ventilation.
Cessnock (6) and Merewether (5) recorded the most cases in Northern NSW.
Traces of virus has been detected in sewage at Armidale, Woolgoolga and Uralla.
Across NSW, 91.7% of people aged 16 and over have received a first dose of a vaccine and 78.8% are now fully vaccinated to midnight on Thursday.
