A 66-year-old woman has been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital after a live stock incident 15-kilometres south of Taree.
It’s believed a horse knocked over the woman when exiting a horse float, causing spinal injuries.
A man aged in his 50’s also suffered minor injuries.
“The paramedics are treating for accrete spinal injuries, she did have some bruising around her neck I believe her sensations were all in tack though in her arms and her feet so she was just transported as a precaution just to make sure there was nothing further that needed to be assessed or treated.”
It’s unknown what caused the horse to become agitated.
