LOCAL BEE SPECIES BECOMING ENDANGERED FOLLOWING RECENT BUSHFIRES

A new study has found native bees in the New England region are in a fight for survival, after the Black Summer bushfires.
Two species are now classed as endangered, and another nine are listed as vulnerable.
About 30 percent of their habitat was destroyed in the 2019-2020 season.
Researchers hope their findings will prompt climate action from state and federal governments.
