UPPER HOUSE INQUIRY CONTINUES INTO RURAL AND REGIONAL HEALTHCARE

The state’s Upper House inquiry into Rural and Regional Health Outcomes continued online today.

The Country Women’s Association voiced its concerns to the panel.

It fears the time it takes rural residents to get to a hospital is risking lives.

“We’ve heard horror stories of women giving birth on the side of the roads, is that a genuine fear for the women in your community who are pregnant?”… “Yes, and it has happened, genuinely happened.”

The inquiry, which has received over 700 submissions, continues in Walgett next month.
