WESTPAC RESCUE HELICOPTER LAUNCHES “BASE TO BASE” CHALLENGE

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has created a new virtual sporting event, to bolster its annual fundraising.

‘Base To Base’ will run for the entire month of October – ending on the 31st.

It encourages locals to walk, ride, run or roll the distance between any of the chopper’s four Northern New South Wales bases.

Missions range from 42 to 1,400 kilometres – and can be completed individually or in a team.

Organisers say registrations are already going strong.

“We’re sitting in the high 700’s this morning and we’ve raised a considerable amount of money, before we even started.”

Funds raised will help to keep the chopper in the air – 24 hours, 7 days a week.

To register, visit the Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s website.
