Byron Bay is among seven local government areas in New South Wales which haven’t yet reached the 70 percent first dose vaccination milestone.
60.9 percent of Byron residents have had their first dose, with Lismore and the Richmond Valley also trailing behind the rest of the state at 68.3 percent and 69.6 percent respectively.
Muswellbrook was also on the list at 68.6 percent.
“We appreciate in some pockets of community, there are people who are still concerned and our job is to provide as much information as possible,” the Premier said in this morning’s press conference.
However, she flagged that rates continue to climb and that in just a week, the number of LGAs yet to reach the milestone had gone to “just a handful.”
