PATROL SEASON UNDERWAY ON MID NORTH COAST BEACHES

The flags have gone up on Mid North Coast beaches to signal the start of the patrol season.

Lifeguards returning to the region’s busiest beaches this morning with locals looking to soak up the sun.

Eyes will be on the water during public holidays and weekends.

But once again Covid restrictions are placing a limit on lifeguard numbers per shift.

“We’ll only have 6 patrolling members so if you swim between the flags it makes it a lot easier for us rather than roaming up and down the beach,” Lower Mid North Coast SLS president Brian Wilcox said.

“Be mindful of the current health orders they can change at any moment and that other authorities regularly come and visit the beach as well,” life saving director Nathan de Rooy added.
