WINGHAM SPORTING COMPLEX UPGRADE TO BE COMPLETED IN 2022

A major upgrade to the Wingham Sporting Complex is set to be completed early next year.

The Wingham Tigers Rugby League club today accepting a $400,000 federal government grant to build an extendable roof over a new grandstand at the football oval.

The club is also updating change room facilities that were built almost 50 years ago.

“The Manning is becoming a true regional capital but sporting infrastructure is so important to getting bigger events bigger crowds and more sporting tourism,” Lyne MP Dr David Gillespie said.

“The grandstand is actually coming out that we’re going to have a viewing platform up there which we’re looking at making a corporate box area,” Wingham Tigers president Scott Blanch added.
