TAMWORTH MP TO PUSH FOR FINAL RANGARI ROAD FUNDING

The fight to secure funding to seal Rangari Road continues.

Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson now says he’ll push the state government for the final $1.6 million towards the project.

Gunnedah Shire Council had initially been told to pay for part of the work – but mayor Jamie Chaffey refused as it is largely state funded.

So far, $10.4 million has been locked in for improvements along the 19-kilometre stretch of road.

The bulk of construction begins in January.
