Police are hunting down a man who broke into a Lake Macquarie shopping centre with a forklift this morning, before stealing an ATM.
Officers have been told the man drove the forklift into Cameron Park Plaza’s glass doors in the early hours of this morning.
It’s believed he then used the machinery to steal an ATM and drive off.
Officers were called to the shopping centre on George Booth Drive about 1:40am today, and then found the remnants of an ATM at a nearby construction site.
While, the forklift was found in nearby bushland.
Two crime scenes have been established and an investigation into the ram raid continues with police appealing to for anyone with information to come forward.
