RECORD NUMBER OF NEW COVID-19 CASES RECORDED IN NSW
New South Wales has recorded 1,431 COVID-19 cases overnight.
There are another 11 cases in the Hunter New England Health district – 4 in the Port Stephens LGA, 2 in the Lake Macquarie LGA, 2 in the Newcastle LGA, 1 in the Maitland LGA, 1 in the Upper Hunter LGA and 1 in Armidale.
The Central Coast recorded another 8 new cases.
Deputy Premier John Barilaro says the government is looking to fast track the opportunity for vaccination in rural and regional New South Wales.
When questioned this morning about sewage detections in regional areas without cases, Mr Barilaro said some people may be being transferred from some regional areas to hospitals in other areas.
New South Wales Health says it remains concerned about sewage detections, including at Wauchope.
Anyone with symptoms areas with sewage detections is urged to get tested and self-isolate.
