OPEN LETTER CALLS FOR MINING SUSPENSION

An open letter written by six Gloucester councillors makes an urgent public plea to suspend mining developments until the potential impacts have been assessed.
It comes after federal Environment Minister Tony Burke granted conditional approval to stage one of AGL’s coal seam gas project in the town.
The letter is highly critical of the state and federal governments, and claims the health and safety of the community has been overlooked.
