FIVE PEOPLE ALLOWED AT WEDDINGS ACROSS NSW FROM SEPTEMBER 3

New South Wales has recorded 1,035 new COVID-19 cases overnight.

Sadly, two people died – a lady in her 70s at Nepean Hospital, and a lady in her 80s at Westmead Hospital.

Three new cases were recorded in the Hunter New England Health District, 2 in the Maitland LGA and 1 in the Newcastle LGA.

Two are from the same household in Thornton and were infectious in the community. At this stage, it’s unknown how the pair were infected.

The other one in North Lambton was linked to the Costco cluster, and has not been infectious in the community.

The Central Coast recorded another 2 positive cases.

In Western New South Wales, there were 42 new cases – 34 in Dubbo, 6 in Bourke, 1 in Bathurst and 1 in Mudgee.

It brings the total number of cases in the area to 495.

There’s been another record turn out of people getting vaccinated – 156,165 people rolled up their sleeves yesterday.

Health officials are urging those in regional areas with symptoms to get a COVID-19 test, after traces of the virus were detected in sewage in several suburbs – including at Moree and the Bonny Hills sewage plant on the Mid North Coast.

Meanwhile, restrictions have been eased for those wanting to get married.

From 12.01 this Friday September 3, couples across New South Wales can get married with minimum of 5 guests (not including those required to facilitate the service).
